Easter Festival in Buda Castle
 

The celebration at Buda Castle, coupled with an artisan fair showcasing folk art and gastronomy, will include demonstrations of traditional Hungarian trades and authentic Hungarian cultural treasures.

Furthermore, the Easter festivities will be enriched by performances from notable figures in world music, folk music, and folk dance on the main stage of Hunyadi udvar. A diverse array of children’s concerts ensures entertainment for every member of the family.

In addition to a day filled with diverse programs, attendees can look forward to attractions such as the tale labyrinth and Bóbita Kikelet fable garden, traditional games to test children's skills, egg rolling and catching, Easter crafts workshops, and the Mezőntúli playhouse.

Hollókő Easter Festival 

The three day Easter Festival in Hollókő is the feast of Hungarian traditions, featuring:

Folklor programs, Palóc gastronomy, traditions, the inevitable waterpouring, concerts, family and children programs.

The programs at this charming village, in the peasant houses and along the rocky-road of the village take back to time between 29 March - 1 April. 

Tickets: 

During these days the Hollókő Easter Festival and the Old village of Hollókő can be visited only with the official tickets of the Festival.

The festival ticket includes also the entries of the Castle of Hollókő, Paloc Playhouse, Old School, Village Museum, Post Museum, the former weaving house (Guzsalyas), Handicraft printer, Paloc Doll Museum.

Easter Festival At Skanzen

If you’re looking for an Easter Festival closer to Budapest then you could visit Skanzen in Szentendre between 29 March - 1 April. 

You can learn about the Hungarian folk traditions at Easter, participate in workshops about egg decoration techniques, and for kalács baking and more.

Also, Skanzen is an excellent outdoor museum where you can explore the various regions of Hungary.

Matyó Easter, Mezőkövesd


Mezőkövesd, in the heart of Matyóland. Matyó people's name can be traced back to King Matthias, who in the 15th century raised Mezőkövesd to the status of royal town. Every year Mezőkövesd offers lots of programs to local residents and of course, to visiting tourists.

The Matyó Easter is a three days festival featuring such diverse programs as angling competition, food benediction and folklore events.
