Budapest Airport Expects Heavy Traffic During Holidays
The operator of the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport expects an average of 50,000 passengers per day during the Christmas season, resulting in long waiting times for check-in and passenger screening.

Budapest Airport said peak times are between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Traditionally, December 23, 27, 28 and 30 are the busiest days of the year.

Most passengers come from the United Kingdom, but thanks to new overseas flights, more people are coming from the United States and Asia. For Hungarian tourists, Asia and Mediterranean countries are the most popular destinations at this time of year.
