Besides the oft-mentioned risk groups of the elderly and the chronically ill, he stressed that Down’s syndrome patients are also exposed to increasing danger.
Earlier on, the majority of patients became infected at family events or large gatherings, but now the virus is spreading in communities and it is not possible to ascertain where individuals caught the virus, he added.
Szlávik said it is becoming increasingly common that patients are hospitalised who have taken every precaution yet still caught the coronavirus.
