Big Cruise Boats Seen Back On Danube
Large hotel ships are slowly returning to the Danube after the coronavirus crisis, Reuters news agency reports.

Germany’s Nicko Cruises was the first company to launch six- and eight-day boat tours, travelling from Passau to Budapest, with three vessels, starting on June 22.

Cruise manager Alexander Steiner told Reuters that their ships used to operate at 90% occupancy, but now it is about 70%.

Due to the coronavirus, several precautions have been taken: tables are placed farther apart, masks are mandatory in enclosed common spaces, and staff must also meet strict health standards.

In addition, all passengers undergo a Covid blood test before departure and must have their temperature checked every day.

Most guests are German, Austrian and Swiss, especially because Americans, Israelis and Britons are still subject to travel restrictions.
