Hungary Expects 250 Covid Fatalities Daily In Near Future
The cabinet expects the pandemic to get worse in Hungary, according to an internal ministry document obtained by RTL Híradó.

The cabinet reportedly anticipates 14,000 hospitalised patients and a daily 250 coronavirus deaths or even more in the near future.

A report aired by the TV channel said hospitals find it hard even today to bear the burden.

According to another non-public letter, the Heim Pál children’s hospital can receive adults up to age 35 afflicted with the coronavirus who rely on a ventilator or intensive care.

Zoltán Szabad, president of the Hungarian Physicians Union, told RTL that neither doctors nor nurses have a minute’s rest, nor can they take a breather.

“The more tired a doctor is, the greater the possibility that he will make a mistake, and that applies to the skilled workers as well,” Szabad remarked.

Prime Minister’s Office leader Gergely Gulyás said earlier that there is no capacity problem in health care.

More than 10,000 hospital beds can be made free and more can be made available, if necessary, he said.
