Margaret Island is another spacious green patch in the heart of the city; a perfect place to celebrate the good weather this May Day in Budapest.

Tabán Festival – 1st May from 3pm onwards

Tabán is popular with Budapesti locals to celebrate the first day of May with live concerts from early afternoon untill late night, in the green 1st district Tabán area in Buda.

    150 years ago on 17 November 1873, the city of Budapest was established by the unification of Pest, Buda and Óbuda. The origins of Budapest can be traced to the 4th century BC when the Celts occupied parts of Hungary. It was later conquered by the Roman Empire, which established the town of Aquincum around AD 100 on the site of today's city of Budapest.
