Expat Football Club Finds New Home in Budapest
Popular Irish pub Davy Byrne's and expatriate football club Budapest Celtic FC are delighted to announce a new partnership which will see the ambitious sports club base itself at the downtown entertainment venue for the foreseeable future.

Davy Byrne's has been a fixture on the Budapest pub scene for the past two years and under the management of Irishman Brian Tuohy and American Timothy Helmick, has become one of the most popular city-centre locations for expats and Hungarians, offering a wide range of food and drinks, live music, a classic pub decor and the chance to watch all major televised sporting events.

Budapest Celtic FC, with its 100+ membership and men's, women's and veterans sections, is a natural fit as a new partner and builds on Davy Byrne's current relationships with rugby club Budapest Exiles and GAA club Budapest Rangers.

The pub, located near Oktogon by the corner of Jókai utca and Aradi utca, will be home to all Budapest Celtic's post-match and training gatherings, as well as its well-attended club social events, one of which will see the club celebrate its 25th anniversary later this year.

Co-manager Brian Tuohy is glad to welcome the sports club on board: "We are delighted to welcome Budapest Celtic to the Davy Byrne's family. We can't wait to have the girls and guys in our pub."

Meanwhile, for Budapest Celtic, it is a welcome boost to the club, as club president Matthew Watson-Broughton explains: "We've been looking for a new events partner for a while, because it's very important for a sports club to have a base where everyone can socialise. We're really looking forward to working together with everyone at Davy Byrne's to help our club be an ever more enjoyable experience for our members".
