The 8km renewed narrow-gauge rail connection between Imremajor and the hot spa resort of Csisztapuszta near Lake Balaton reopens on July 1, the state railway company MÁV announced on Wednesday.
This side line of the 14km Balatonfenyves-Somogyszentpál narrow-gauge line was closed in September 2002.
There will be six trains daily connecting the lake and the spa in 35 minutes.
The Csisztapuszta terminal will be renovated at a cost of Ft 650 million in the near future.
MÁV chairman and CEO Róbert Homolya announced the rail renewal project one and a half years ago, estimating the cost at Ft 2.1 billion.
