The EU recommends a minimum wage of half of the national average wage, which was Ft 431,600 in May and half of that is more than Ft 215,000, Kordás said.
The present minimum wage, after a 4% increase in February, is Ft 167,400, or €473.
Meanwhile, the minimum wage is €623 in Slovakia, €614 in Poland and €579 in the Czech Republic.
A Ft 200,000 minimum wage would be €564, which is lower than the present Czech level, which will probably be increased next year, Kordás observed.
Maszsz did not sign the wage agreement early this year, as it demanded at least a 5% wage increase.
