Péter Márki-Zay Meets With Nine More Foreign Ambassadors in Budapest
Péter Márki-Zay, the prime ministerial candidate for the united political opposition, took part in another diplomatic meeting with foreign ambassadors to Hungary.

The meeting was organized by Ronan Gargan, the Irish Ambassador to Budapest, and included the ambassadors of Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal and Greece.

The meeting was about the fight against corruption, accountability, the prevention of election fraud and also Hungary’s commitment to Europe. - wrote the leader of the joint opposition on Facebook.

Prior to this current meeting, Péter Márki-Zay met with six ambassador-level diplomats in Budapest last week at the initiative of Marc Dillard, the Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy, and also visited with British Ambassador Paul Fox in Márki-Zay’s hometown of Hódmezővásárhely, where he is also mayor.

Márki-Zay has been active in diplomatic relations since winning the opposition’s primary elections in October, not only with foreign diplomats in Hungary but also in Brussels, where he met with European Union politicians.
