835,000 Claims for Income Tax Refund in Hungary

Some 835,000 applications for the personal income tax refund for families with children were received before the December 31 deadline, of which 81% were filed online and 132,000 were filed on paper, Finance Ministry state secretary András Tállai announced yesterday.
The government is providing a one-off tax refund for eligible families with children amounting to over Ft 600 billion. The refunds will be paid in February.
Data in the already filed applications, including the receiving bank account, can be modified until January 14.
Those who missed the deadline but are eligible for the refund can still file their claims alongside their income tax declaration.
