Nearly 200 Cubic Meters of Waste Collected in Budapest at New Year

Budapest’s FKF waste management company collected nearly 200 cubic meters of waste after the New Year’s Eve celebrations in the city, the company said on Saturday.

Using 20 vehicles, 90 employees cleaned traditional venues of the festivities, underpasses and large thoroughfares in the city, FKF said.

The waste will be used to produce heat and electricity, the statement said.

Hungarian prosecutors have formally charged a 36-year-old German woman with the murder of her 11-year-old son in the town of Karcag. The Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking a 15-year prison sentence in a maximum-security penitentiary (fegyház), alongside a 10-year expulsion from Hungary and a permanent ban from any profession involving children.
