130 US Soldiers to Arrive in Hungary for Training
American TV network NBC reported that the US will send 130 troops and armoured vehicles to Hungary because of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó declared last week that no NATO soldiers would be deployed in Hungary in response to the Russia-Ukraine tension, because Hungary already has enough NATO soldiers to defend the country – Hungarian soldiers.

In reply to questions from news website 24, the Defence Ministry said “Every year, there are domestic and international exercises, joint training and preparations in Hungary, for which soldiers from NATO member states come to Hungary. It will happen this year, too, on several occasions”.

The official briefing indicated that the first such training exercise will take place from late February to early March.

The US soldiers arrive with 40 combat vehicles from forces stationed in Europe and Africa.
