PM Orbán Meets Vodafone CEO
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Nick Read, the chief executive of telecommunications giant Vodafone, met on Tuesday to discuss Hungary’s digital development and competitiveness, the PM’s press chief said in a statement.

Orbán and Read discussed Vodafone’s plans, and agreed that Hungary’s economic and social development may benefit as a result, the statement said.

The digitalisation of SMEs, industrial developments, 5G investments, smart cities, and sustainability projects for improving quality of life were subjects on the meeting’s agenda.

Vodafone, a key investor in Hungary, has aligned its business interests with Hungary’s, contributing to the country’s development over the past 22 years, the statement said.

The company has created some 9,000 jobs in Hungary, and its Hungarian unit serves around 3.8 million clients, it added.
