Shell Hungary Limits Petrol Sales at Busiest Stations
Shell Hungary is limiting sales of petrol at ten of its 191 filling stations that are most frequented by international hauliers to a maximum of Ft 50,000 per purchase, the company announced on Tuesday.

Shell said it had imposed the restriction due to excessive demand.

As the Ft 50,000 maximum equates to approximately 100 litres, drivers of personal cars will not be affected.

There is no limit on the number of purchases that can be made in one day.

Truckers buy significant quantities, and have also started to fill up at stations typically used by local residents. The number of purchases by foreign car and truck drivers has also increased significantly, the company added.

Portfolio recalls that Prime Minister’s Office leader Gergely Gulyás previously said that the government regulation on the price cap does not permit a quantitative restriction on fuelling.

Meanwhile, Shell has raised fuel delivery to maximum capacity by adding extra shifts and grouping its entire logistics staff and fleet into inventory replenishment tasks.
