Covid Epidemic Peaked a Year Ago Here
The coronavirus epidemic in Hungary reached its peak one year ago, on March 30, when 12,533 infected people were receiving treatment in hospitals, 444 recalls.

Now, thanks to the inoculations and the milder Omicron variant, this number is considerably lower as there are 1,873 Covid patients in hospitals.

A total of 1,529 people were on ventilators last March 30, compared to only 55 today.

Another 40 deaths were reported, down from 42 last Wednesday, and officially the epidemic has claimed 45,430 lives. A year ago, 247 people died on March 30.

Fresh data show the number of newly infected people stagnating near 2,906 patients, up from 2,845 one week ago.

Officials announced that 24% of those aged 12-15 and 63% of those aged 16-17 have been inoculated to date.
