The Pest County Police told MTI the vandalism was reported on Saturday morning and an investigation was launched.

Information is being collected and all efforts are being made to identify and arrest the perpetrators, the police said.

About half of the already dilapidated headstones in the cemetery were knocked over or smashed, according to press reports.
