No Gas from Ukraine to Hungary, as Gazprom Halts Supply
No natural gas arrived in Hungary from Ukraine yesterday after Russia’s Gazprom announced that it would end the gas supply to Central Europe via Ukraine, citing a legal dispute as an explanation.

Gas continued to arrive from Serbia, Romania and Austria, according to MOL pipeline subsidiary FGSZ Földgázszállító.

Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry state secretary Tamás Menczer said on Facebook that gas was continuing to reach Hungary via the TurkStream pipeline.

“It cannot be allowed that families cannot heat their home, nor that jobs are endangered due to the lack of gas”, he declared, adding “energy is not an ideological issue, but a reality issue”.

Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó said yesterday that 50-60% of Hungary’s gas is supplied via TurkStream.
