Hungarian-Owned Romanian Carrier Starts Direct Flights to Hungary
Hungarian-owned Romanian airline Aeroexpress Regional will launch direct flights between Budapest and Cluj-Napoca and from Debrecen to Cluj-Napoca and Targu Mures from September 5, the company said.

The founding shareholder of Aeroexpress Regional is BASe Airline, a 100% Hungarian-owned company, which has been present on the market for 31 years and has gained significant experience in regional aviation in Europe.

Aeroexpress will operate the flights three times a week for a two-month test period to assess demand for regional flights.

The airline will deploy Brazilian-made Embraer 120 ER aircraft for the flights, as they were specially developed for the efficient and economical operation of shorter flights.

Rival airline AirConnect last week announced the launch of flights connecting Budapest to Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest from October 15.
