Sunday Closing in Hungary Advocated by Chamber of Commerce & Industry
Those who suggest that shops be closed on Sundays in order to save energy costs are right, president László Parragh of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) told ATV.

“If we look at the opening hours, it can be seen that in many cases they are shortened, in many places they save on lighting; everyone is looking for a solution that can save money,” he said.

He added that the MKIK has made suggestions to the government on how to help businesses in their fight against skyrocketing energy prices.

The smallest companies are in the biggest trouble, Parragh said, as their ability to plan and capital are not sufficient to survive in the long term.

The MKIK suggests that the government curb the abuse of market power, especially against small businesses.
