A faster, safer and higher-capacity, redundant optic fibre connection has been built between Budapest and Vienna by Invitech Hungary in co-operation with the international business division of the A1 Telekom Austria Group, it was announced yesterday.

The new link constitutes the shortest connection available today.

Its infrastructure consists of 11,000km of optical network and approximately 4,000m2 of data centre capacity.

With the new connection, A1 Telekom Austria expands its European optical network.

Its services are based on the infrastructure of its subsidiaries operating in seven Central and Eastern European countries in addition to its own backbone network.
