HUF 48 Billion Tender Announced for SME's in Hungary for Tech Upgrades
The state secretary for SMEs on Thursday announced the launch of a HUF 48bn tender for purchases of equipment and technology investments at businesses.

Richard Szabados said SMEs could apply for between HUF 5m and HUF 200m of funding in the tender, with an intensity ratio of 50pc. Pre-registration starts on Friday and applications will be accepted from January 13, 2025, he added.

Applications for double the allocation will be accepted and the best ones selected, he said. Between 400 and 500 companies are expected to be awarded the support, he added.

Meanwhile, Terran, Budapest uni wind up HUF 828m R+D project

Hungarian tile maker Terran and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) have wound up an HUF 828m project to further develop and expand Terrans offering of Generon roof tiles with integrated solar panels, the partners said.

The four-year project to improve the efficiency and the mechanical stability of the tiles, as well as expand their colour range, was supported with HUF 422m from the National R+D+I Fund.

Terran had net sales revenue of HUF 14.0bn in 2023, public records show.
