Orbán’s High Utility Bills Revealed - Costs for His Estate in Hatvanpuszta Not Included
Viktor Orbán pays more in household utility bills each month than what a starting teacher’s salary is in Hungary today, Momentum MP Dávid Bedő wrote on his Facebook page..

He made the comment after Orbán informed him in a letter that his household energy bills add up to Ft 300,000 a month.

When Orbán was unable to say how much he pays for household energy when asked by Bedő in Parliament on November 2, the Momentum MP said Orbán "likes to play the simple child of the people", but is removed from the reality of ordinary Hungarians.

Orbán said “My wife will give a written answer to you” when Bedő asked Orbán how much he pays in utility bills compared to a year ago.

In his written response to the MP, Orbán said his household energy bills were Ft 55,190 in November 2021 and Ft 178,598 this month for his house in Budapest, and Ft 47,756 in November 2021 and Ft 121,973 this month for his house in Felcsút.

The costs of his estate in Hatvanpuszta were not included, as Orbán is not the registered owner of the property.

“The sad truth is” Bedő said, “that he can afford to live like that off the money of ordinary people, while millions of Hungarians are hard off, and the cabinet extends minimal help to them”.
