Two More German Suspects Wanted for Street Attacks in Budapest

Police are still searching for two persons suspected of taking part in a series of assaults in Budapest last weekend.

Both are German nationals, identified as 22-year-old Clara Judith Wittkugel and 20-year-old Moritz Christian Leopold Schroeter.



The Buda Central District Court ordered that three suspects – a Hungarian woman, an Italian woman and a German man – remain in police custody and ordered criminal supervision of their accomplice, another German woman.

The court ruled that the woman should send an e-mail message once a week to Budapest Police.

Prosecutors challenged this decision, arguing that, as the German woman has no dwelling place in Hungary, and is not attached to the country in any other way, there is a risk that she might flee the country.

Police told a Monday press conference that the assailants apparently chose their victims on the basis of their clothes, as their intended victims were neo-Nazis.
