Court Orders Release of Classified Hungarian Cabinet Decisions
The cabinet has to release more than 30 government decisions which it kept from the public for ten years, and even now it does not want to reveal, although it has no legal basis for its secrecy, HVG reports.

In upholding the weekly’s claim for the release of data of public interest in a lawsuit launched last August, the Capital Court ruled on Friday that the decisions cannot be kept secret any longer.

According to the website, a total of 1,836 decisions reached by the cabinet since 2010 until April of last year have been concealed from the public.

Officials have always said in answer to questions asked that the information need not be made public for ten years, it is classified as decision-making materials.

The court ruling refutes this argument.
