The pool about 55km from Budapest will be open all year round and its owners will apply for official “medical spa” certification.

The thermal water was discovered during a search for oil in the 1960s. A pool began utilising the hot water in 1971.

A Ft 260 million reconstruction project that began last year, is now nearing completion.
