Both releases are now in the top ten most successful movies in Hungary since 2009, the former ranked sixth, the latter ninth.

Barbie brought in Ft 1.2 billion in ticket sales, while Christopher Nolan’s film about the US physicist who played a pivotal role in the development of the atomic bomb, also crossed the Ft 1 billion mark in box office sales.

The 2022 release Avatar – the Way of Water, tops the all-time charts with Ft 2.3 billion in revenue, ahead of its predecessor, Avatar, released in 2009, which took in Ft 1.8 billion.
