BUX Index Rally: Budapest Stock Exchange Hits New All-Time High

The benchmark index of the Budapest Stock Exchange ended Monday’s session at a new historic high, rising 0.62% on the day to 57,207 points, its highest-ever level.
The index outperformed Western European bourses and is currently above the 20-, 50- and 200-day moving averages, a sign that the upward trend could continue, according to technical analysts.
OTP shares led the rally with a gain of 1.1% to Ft 14,500 on Ft 6.3 billion turnover, or two-thirds of the session total of Ft 9.8 billion.
Richter, MOL and Magyar Telekom shares rose by 0.1-0.8%.
The BUX index has gained more than 30% so far this year.
