Tourists from Hungary Spent 47% More Abroad, Totaling HUF 1.6 Trillion Last Year
Hungarians traveling abroad spent Ft 1.6 trillion outside the country last year, 47% more than in 2022, the Central Statistics Office announced.

Hungarians spent Ft 267 billion in Austria, followed by Germany at Ft 183 billion.

Hungarian citizens made 21.1 million trips outside the country in 2023, a 17% increase from 2022.

The length of stay increased by 25%, compared to 2022, as the number of multi-day leisure and shopping trips increased.

In Hungary foreign tourists spent Ft 3.1 trillion, up by 36% from 2022.

The average daily spending rose by 28% to Ft 27,500.

The number of their visits to Hungary rose by 6.6% to 49.4 million, and the total time of their visits grew by 6.7% to 114.2 million days.
