Lower Danube Embankment Road Reopened for Traffic on Sunday After Flood in Budapest
The lower embankment of the River Danube will be reopened for traffic on both sides from Sunday, following the recent flooding of the river, the Budapest Metropolitan Office said.

Meanwhile, the Mátyás Huszár embankment of the River Tisza in Szeged, in southern Hungary, will be closed at 6.30pm on Sunday due to flooding caused by the river’s rising water level, the city council has said.

The Tisza’s water level in Szeged reached 542cm on Sunday morning and could rise by a further 10-20cm over the next two days, reaching the embankment, the city council said in a statement.
