Family Puzzled After Election Notifications Sent to Dead People in Hungary
A family from Halásztelek, in Pest county, raised concerns when their grandmother, who passed away in 2017, and a neighbour who left the country in the 1980s and would have been 116 years old, received election notifications, HVG reports.

The National Election Office (NVI) explained that the Interior Ministry’s data registry had inaccuracies, leading to erroneous mailings.

However, the family is puzzled about how data about their grandmother appeared in the database years after her passing, without any prior election involvement.

The NVI contacted the Ministry of Interior, which said it would correct its records.
