Hungary Had Hottest Spring on Record
This spring was the warmest in Hungary since records began in 1901, according to HungaroMet.

The average temperature was 13.4°C, which is 2.3°C higher than the 1991-2020 average.

The highest temperature recorded was 31.4°C on April 15 in Kisombor, and the lowest was -6.5°C on March 20 in Kakucs.

March, April, and May were each warmer than average by 3.7°C, 1.8°C, and 1.4°C, respectively.

Most lowlands saw average temperatures of 13-14°C, exceeding 14°C in parts of the southern Great Plain.

Only the north-central highlands had average temperatures of less than 10°C.

The warm spring is also reflected in the climatic indices, as only four frosty days – when the daily minimum temperature is 0°C or below - occurred, compared to an average of 15, and there were no winter days – when the daily maximum temperature is below 0°C degrees – while there are typically one.

Summer days – when the daily maximum temperature is 25°C or above – doubled with 21 recorded, compared to an average of 11.
