Gundel's Sign Language Film Finished in Top 3 at 3 Minute Film Festival
Gundel Restaurant's film on sign language communication came second at one of the world's most prestigious short film festivals. The 3 Minute Film Festival in Santa Barbara celebrates the creativity and message of three-minute films and is a highly regarded event among filmmakers.

This year, 12 films from 5 countries (UK, India, USA, Hungary, Turkey) were shortlisted in the "Narrative" category, where Hungary was represented by the Gundel film.

It was a great achievement that Gundel's short film "Gundel is for EVERYONE" missed the final festival victory by a small margin.

The Gundel film, which was released in March this year thanks to the crew of acclaimed filmmaker Péter Bergendy, not only focuses on the commitment of Hungary's most famous restaurant to CSR, but also conveys a profound message about the importance of inclusivity.

As part of this, colleagues learnt key English and Hungarian sign language communication skills, and a Braille menu was created for the visually impaired. In addition to the legendary hospitality, social responsibility and sensitivity have always been part of Gundel's core values and have shaped the attitude of the staff, which is reflected in their attention to visually and hearing impaired guests. It also reinforces the belief of the staff that Gundel is for everyone!

Jenő Magyary, Executive Director of Gundel, said about the success: 'it is a great honour for us that our film was selected for the 3 Minute Film Festival. To finally be included in the TOP 3 is a great pleasure for the whole Gundel team and all our partners who helped us in this case.

Many thanks to the dedicated Gundel team, our Gundel operations group, the Eventrend Group, the creative team of Péter Bergendy with their refined sensibility and the SINOSZ (National Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) experts who enthusiastically helped us learn sign language.

This recognition only reinforces our commitment and further encourages us to make the hospitality of Gundel accessible to all".

Now in its 12th edition, the 3 Minute Film Festival aims to provide a space for short but profound films that effectively convey human stories and social messages. The unique feature of the festival is that the three-minute format gives filmmakers the opportunity to express their message in a short yet powerful way, providing viewers with a unique and memorable experience.
