Latest Retail Sales Figures on Rise in Hungary

Retail sales climbed an unadjusted 3.7pc.
Adjusted food sales increased 5.3pc, non-food sales rose 4.5pc and vehicle fuel sales edged up 1.3pc.
Retail sales inched up 0.6pc in a month-on-month comparison, adjusted for seasonal and calendar year effects.
In absolute terms, retail sales came to HUF 1,684bn in November. Food sales accounted for 47pc of the total, non-food sales for 38pc and sales at petrol stations for 15pc.
For the period January-November, retail sales rose an adjusted 2.9pc and an unadjusted 3.1pc from the same period a year earlier.
The fresh data show a continuation of the growth trend in retail sales, the National Economy Ministry said in a statement. Households' propensity to spend is returning, supported by real wage growth, it added.
