Electrical equipment manufacturer GANZ KK and the University of Dunaujvaros have developed an automated, remotely controlled system for charging multiple electric vehicles in the framework of a HUF 1.1bn project, GANZ KK told MTI.

The project was supported by HUF 796m from the National R+D+I Fund.

The system allows companies to charge up to four vehicles at once.

GANZ KK had net sales revenue of HUF 3.1bn in 2023, public records show.

Over 200 EV charging points to be set up at 60 locations in Hungary

Over 200 EV charging stations will be set up with EU funding at around 60 locations in Hungary, including some for lorries, the Energy Ministry said on Facebook.

The ministry said two Hungarian projects are included among the 39 successful applicants on the decision list of the latest call for proposals of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Transport Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) published in February. The 39 projects have been allocated around EUR 422m in funding.

Of AFIF developments funded with EUR 28.8m in support in Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Poland, E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI) will instal new charging stations at 30 locations in Hungary, including twenty with 100 charging points for passenger cars and ten with 36 charging points for lorries.

MVM Mobiliti has received over EUR 2m to instal 67 charging points. With EU funding won earlier, MVM Mobiliti is already installing charging points at 10 locations and will set up more at another 20 by the end of 2026. Thanks to the latest decision, it will instal charging points at another 30 locations, the ministry said.

The government called a tender for HUF 28bn of support for EV charging stations in October 2024.
