Japan's Nissin Foods will spend HUF 40bn to build a second plant in Kecskemet (C Hungary), doubling capacity there, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said.

The government is supporting the investment, which will raise Nissin's headcount in Kecskemet to 600, with more than HUF 10bn, Szijjarto said.

He added that Nissin Foods uses local suppliers at the base, while exporting 90pc of output.

At present, the base can turn out over 250m units a year.
