Significant Rise in Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Premiums in Hungary
Hungarian car owners paid over HUF 57,000, on average, for their annual compulsory vehicle insurance premiums in the fourth quarter, 8pc more than in the same period a year earlier, a report by the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) shows.

Motorists in Budapest paid higher premiums: an average HUF 81,600, up 10pc.

The average premium for individual policies covering taxis rose 13pc to HUF 171,700, while the premium for trucks rose 6pc to HUF 85,600.

The average premium for fleet passenger cars increased 19pc to HUF 68,200.

There were about 4,141,980 compulsory vehicle insurance policies in Hungary during the period.

The NBH noted that payouts on compulsory vehicle insurance policy claims increased 3pc.
