Compulsory Vehicle Insurance in Hungary Close to HUF 58,000 on Average
Hungarian car owners paid almost HUF 58,000, on average, for their annual compulsory vehicle insurance premiums in the third quarter, 10pc more than in the same period a year earlier, a report by the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) shows.

Motorists in Budapest paid higher premiums: an average HUF 83,500, up 11pc.

The average premium for individual policies covering taxis rose 16pc to HUF 167,700, while the premium for trucks rose 5pc to HUF 96,400.

The average premium for fleet passenger cars increased 10pc to HUF 82,400.

There were about 4,186,000 compulsory vehicle insurance policies in Hungary during the period.

The NBH noted that payouts on compulsory vehicle insurance policy claims increased 5pc.
