Budapest Public Transport Fares to Rise Soon - New Prices Announced
Public transport fares will rise in the capital from June 1, the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) said.

The price of a single ticket will rise from HUF 450 to HUF 500, and the price of a block of ten tickets will increase from HUF 4,000 to HUF 4,500.

The price of a 30-minute ticket will rise from HUF 530 to HUF 600 and the price of a 90-minute ticket will climb from HUF 750 to HUF 850.

The 24-hour Budapest ticket will cost HUF 2,750 from June 1, up from HUF 2,500 at present.

The devaluation of the forint and the need for resources to cover future developments made the fare increases necessary, BKK said. The ticket adjustment is under the rate of inflation, it added.
