Court Orders Release of 1 Billion Euro Chinese Loan Contracts with Hungary
The state debt manager ÁKK has been ordered in a final court ruling to release the contracts related to a €1 billion Chinese loan agreement, it was announced by Democratic Coalition MP László Varju, who started the case.

The party initially requested access to the documents through a request for data of public interest, but the ÁKK refused to comply, prompting the party to file a lawsuit.

The loan in question, arranged in spring 2024, is a three-year, €1 billion facility sourced from the China Development Bank, the Export-Import Bank of China, and the Hungarian branch of the Bank of China.
