Birthday Bash at Budapest Zoo – Charity Retro Party on 7 August
Budapest Zoo is celebrating its birthday once again! Although this year doesn't mark a round anniversary, Hungary’s most-visited attraction, which first opened its gates on 9 August 1866, certainly deserves a celebration every year.

As part of the festivities, the Zoo’s Foundation is once again organising its much-loved charity retro party in honour of the animals.

On 7 August, just two days before the official birthday, a host of celebrity friends will gather to visit their adopted animals and take part in a grand charity event in support of the Zoo and its animal-loving community.

Event Schedule

The evening is split into two parts:

6:30 PM – 7:30 PMMeet & Greet with Celebrities
Celebrity ambassadors will be stationed near their adopted animals to meet fans and supporters.

For example:

  • Tamás Hevesi will be with the wombats

  • Ádám Solti will meet guests by the red panda enclosure

  • Ferenc Szigeti of the band Karthago will be at the elephant habitat

  • And Ádám Végvári will also join, bringing attention to the Malayan tiger

After this, the party moves out of the historic zoo grounds and continues in the Biodome.

From 8:00 PMFergeteg Party with DJ Dominique
DJ Dominique will kick off a high-energy retro party inside the Biodome, creating a fantastic atmosphere for all attendees.

As tradition dictates, the Zoo Foundation will treat guests to classic lard bread (zsíros kenyér), along with a variety of fiery and icy drinks to keep spirits high.

Those who’ve attended in previous years know what to expect: an unforgettable evening filled with fun, music, and goodwill. And for first-time guests, it’s the perfect opportunity to experience how heart-warming and exciting it is when beloved artists and their audiences come together to support the Zoo in such a meaningful way.
