Borsodi Becomes Official Beer of Hungarian Football
The Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) has signed a new long-term sponsorship agreement with Borsodi Brewery, making the well-known Hungarian beer brand an official partner of the national football team for the next three years. Under the deal, Borsodi becomes the official beer of the Hungarian national team, according to business news outlet Világgazdaság.

Founded in 1973 in Bőcs, a town in northeastern Hungary, Borsodi Brewery has played a pioneering role in the Hungarian beer industry. The company introduced the country’s first alcohol-free beer, first canned beer, and first widely popular flavored beer. Today, Borsodi is one of the most widely consumed beer brands in Hungary.

Reflecting on the partnership, Zsolt Vuleta, Managing Director and Commercial Director at Borsodi, highlighted the emotional impact of Hungary’s recent performances at the European Championship and the brewery's desire to continue its involvement in national football.

“The European Championship was an emotional and unforgettable experience—not just for the team, but for the entire country,” Vuleta said. “We were proud to be part of those celebrations as the team’s official beer. So when the chance came to extend our support, we didn’t hesitate. We’re looking forward to more great moments over the next three years—and to raising a glass of Borsodi in celebration.”

Borsodi’s Marketing Director, György Spiegel, emphasized the brand’s longstanding commitment to Hungarian sport, particularly football.

“Sport has always been part of who we are as a brand, and football is especially close to our identity,” he noted. “After everything we experienced in 2024, it felt natural to keep that momentum going. We believe in building lasting partnerships, and we're excited to remain the national team’s official beer through 2027. Fans can also expect some special events and surprises in the coming months.”

With Hungary’s World Cup qualifying campaign set to begin in September, the renewed partnership will include new fan engagement initiatives designed to bring supporters closer to the action.
