The Pécs tango festival will feature concerts, dance competitions, performances, a ball and a 'romantic picnic' for three days. 

The central venue of the festival will be the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter, but there will also be programs at the medieval ruins in the Tettye district and in the city center, the Zsolnay Heritage Management Foundation (ZSÖK) announced in a press statement sent to MTI.

The qualifying round of the 1st Pécs Amateur Tango Dance Competition will be held on Friday, September 26, where the couples will present their skills to the jury and the audience, and the best will advance to the final on Saturday. After the qualifying round, a milonga dance party will follow, where everyone can take to the dance floor. 

As an accompanying program, the documentary Muchachos! - Argentina in Football Fever will be screened at the House of Arts and Literature.

On Saturday, after the finals and announcement of the results of the dance competition, the Mixtura Criolla duo and the Tango Harmony Budapest band will perform, and a spectacular performance by three tango couples titled Colores De Tango will also be shown. 
 

The Argentine Tango Dance Theater will present its piece Existence, and finally the evening will end with a tango ball.

On Sunday, the festival ends at the ruins of Tettye.
