MÁV Closes Popular Elvira Website, Passengers Directed to Emma Platform
State railway company MÁV has shut down the popular Elvira timetable search website, it was announced.

Passengers are directed to the renewed Emma platform, which can also be used to buy tickets online.

Emma, which ran in parallel with Elvira for some time, offers extended functions including timetables for buses, trams, trolleys and the suburban train (HÉV).

In Budapest it offers real-time timetable for vehicles operated by the BKK.

Users of the new platform, however, may find it difficult to find information on the delay of trains, Népszava adds.

Earlier this summer, MÁV discontinued the Vonatinfo site, where passengers could track trains on a map in real time. The railway company argued that it was unifying its passenger information services.
