Video: Christmas Tram In Budapest During Festive Season
The festive light fleet is one of Budapest's most beautiful and cherished Advent attractions year after year. The decorated trams, trolleybuses, and buses bring a special, warm atmosphere to the winter weekdays.

Illuminated with kilometers of light strings, these vehicles are not only beautiful but also turn your journey into a real experience, whether you are traveling on your usual route or hopping on for a special festive activity.

In 2025, in addition to the traditional Light Tram (Fényvillamos) and the Santa Trolleybus (Mikulástroli), there will be five other sparkling trams, a cogwheel railway (fogaskerekű) decked out in festive lights, and the Santa Bus (Mikulásbusz) in operation.

You can travel on all these services using a normal fare structure, meaning if you have a valid ticket or monthly pass, you do not need to purchase a separate ticket to board.
