The opening performance of the event will be the opera Tannhäuser, with German tenor Marco Jentzsch in the title role, alongside Dorottya Láng as Venus and Estonian artist Lauri Vasar as Wolfram von Eschenbach.
The performance, which will also be shown on June 29, will be conducted by German conductor Michael Güttler, who regularly conducts Wagner's musical dramas in Europe's most renowned opera houses.
On June 8, Welsh-born bass-baritone Bryn Terfel will give a Wagner evening. The world-famous singer will perform excerpts from the operas The Mastersingers of Nuremberg, The Flying Dutchman, Tannhäuser and Die Walküre at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall.
On June 26 and 28, the audience will be able to see the highly successful production of the Budapest Wagner Days, The Master Singers of Nuremberg, conducted by Ádám Fischer.
The performance will feature singers such as Danish opera singers Bo Skovhus (Sixtus Beckmesser) and Magnus Vigilius (Walther von Stolzing), soprano Polina Pasztircsák (Éva), bass-baritone Gábor Bretz (Pogner) and Swiss countertenor Cornel Frey (Dávid).
On June 30, the evening titled Heroes and Heroines will feature Wagner's most popular melodies, arias and orchestral opera excerpts in the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall.
The National Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by the festival's artistic director, Ádám Fischer, and will feature soprano Daniela Köhler, mezzo-soprano Dorottya Láng, and tenors Zoltán Nyári and Tivadar Kiss.
