Bonfire Night Theme

The virtual bonfire & fireworks display film at this event are in keeping with the British tradition of Bonfire Night, AKA Guy Fawkes Night, which is held annually in the UK to mark the anniversary of a plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London in 1605.

Why 6th December This Year?

We’ve chosen 'Mikulás Nap' because it’s a day in Hungary all about kindness, surprises, and joy for children. As you may know, kids here hope that Mikulás - the Hungarian Santa Claus - will leave them treats on this special occasion.

While this day is filled with joy for many, there are children in Hungary who sadly don't have the same experience. That’s why we’re bringing the expat community together - to share in the local spirit of giving to help brighten the lives of children in need.
