Fresh Pizza: New Chain Coming to Hungary as Russian Dodo Grows
Russia’s Dodo Pizza, one of the world’s ten largest pizzeria chains, is preparing to enter the Hungarian market as part of its European expansion.

Founded in Moscow 15 years ago, the company has grown rapidly and now operates more than 1,300 outlets across 26 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Following its rollout in neighbouring markets such as Romania, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, Hungary is set to become Dodo’s next destination.

The group will enter via a master franchise agreement with the Pizza Me chain.

Under the terms of the deal, ten outlets are expected to open within the first three years, with the network potentially expanding to as many as 30 units over the longer term.

Founded in 2013, Pizza Me has grown into one of Hungary’s leading pizza slice bar brands. Today, the company is owned and operated by Eran and Victor Friedman, who oversee its strategic growth and nationwide expansion.

With over 30 locations across Hungary, Pizza Me is now stepping into the delivery-focused market as the master franchisee of Dodo Pizza. Leveraging its existing production, logistics, and operational infrastructure, the company will operate Dodo Pizza alongside its current brand.

The menu will be tailored to local tastes while maintaining Dodo Pizza’s international standards for quality and efficiency. The first Budapest stores will serve as flagship locations, featuring handcrafted pizzas, appetizers, and desserts made with fresh ingredients. 

Future outlets will combine dine-in options with a strong delivery and digital ordering focus.
