Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel is set to come alive with the vibrant energy of Thailand on 29 August, as it proudly hosts the Opening Ceremony of Thai Gastro Week presented by the Royal Thai Embassy. This highly anticipated event — the Muay Thai Gala — promises an unforgettable evening of authentic Thai cuisine, cultural performance, and the thrilling spirit of Muay Thai.

Embark on a sensory journey that blends the rich culinary heritage of Thailand with the dynamic tradition of Muay Thai boxing, as guests are treated to a specially curated street food style Thai menu served in the hotel’s majestic setting.

The evening begins at 17:00, with welcome speeches by Tamás Fazekas, General Manager of Anantara New York Palace, and H.E. Mr. Phrommes Bhalopolbhayuhasena, Ambassador of Thailand.

The Muay Thai performances and live matches — scheduled from 18:30 to 21:00 — will showcase powerful displays from both Hungarian and international fighters.

These energetic performances pay homage to one of Thailand’s most celebrated traditions and are sure to ignite the spirit of the crowd.

Throughout the event, guests will be able to savour the finest flavours of Thai street cuisine, with a tasting menu that includes:

Tom Yum Kung – A spicy and sour prawn soup infused with lemongrass, lime, and chili.
Traditional Pad Thai – Stir-fried rice noodles with tamarind sauce, tofu, shrimp, and crushed peanuts.
Beef Massaman Curry – Slow-cooked beef in a rich coconut curry with potatoes and peanuts.
Kow Neaw Ma-Muang – A classic Thai dessert of sweet sticky rice with ripe mango and coconut cream.

Soft drinks, beer, and wine are also included in the experience.

To attend the opening ceremony and enjoy the full tasting menu, Promotional Vouchers must be purchased in advance for 15,000 HUF.
