The British International School Budapest Students Crowned European Robotics Champions & Win National Science Prize
A huge congratulations to Lizanna (Year 4) and Laura Ivánka (Year 9) for an incredible week of achievements in science and innovation!

Laura took first place at Hungary’s National Science and Innovation Olympiad (OTIO) with DIVE&CLEAN, her underwater bin system that tackles plastic pollution. She now prepares to represent Hungary at the prestigious EUCYS 2025 in Riga.

Just days later, the sisters became European Champions at the RoboCup Junior in Bari, Italy, with The Sea Turtle Patrol - a robotics project protecting sea turtle nests. After multiple silver finishes, this was a well-earned victory!

With upcoming competitions in Abu Dhabi and a potential presentation in Hawaii, their journey is only just beginning. Both girls were also honoured by the Mayor of District 2 for their exceptional accomplishments.

We are incredibly proud of their brilliance and of their mentor, Mr Joseph Majoros, who continues to inspire the next generation of innovators.
